In its third and final edition: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Concludes the First Phase of the Ithra Program 2020

MANAMA, Bahrain – 01 March 2020: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation concluded the first phase of the Youth Enrichment Program “Ithra” 2020 for its third year for the second batch, which was held under the slogan “Employment and Technical Skills”. The first phase included numerous skills and activities that aimed to develop the personalities of the participants, as well as gaining a number of employment skills required to enable them to learn more about themselves. The program’s activities contributed to enhancing the participants’ capabilities in problem-solving, decision making, as well as being able to adapt to changing environments.

The attendance rate during the first phase of the program reached 84%, where participants focused on self-development skills during the first week of the program, in addition to attending a presentation on future jobs and the different career paths. The “Market D” initiative launched by the Youth Program department was explained to participants, and roles were distributed to team members to complete practical and theoretical exercises. Concluding the first day of the program, uniforms were distributed, along with a self-evaluation questionnaire that was completed by the participants. The second week of the program witnessed a number of activities conducted by the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance at the InterContinental Hotel. This week’s program focused on critical thinking by using the six thinking hats method and mental maps, as the program aimed to strengthen the skill of adapting to changes rapidly and effectively. In addition, the program also focused on enhancing language skills and fluency, as well as the ability to present and express as an individual while instilling a sense of creativity within the participants.

During the third week, and with the cooperation of XX, a number of practical applications, field challenges, as well as a workshop and training activities on creative thinking were organized at the Sofitel Hotel. While the fourth and final week of the first phase was marked by a review of different types of technology and software by Shaikha Latifa Al Khalifa from Clever Play. The program aimed to educate participants on the importance of technology and the various aspects related to it, as well as enhance the skills of using programming and technology.

The launch of this program follows the successful graduation of the first batch of participants in May 2017, in cooperation with the Isa Cultural Centre, the Royal Police Academy, Lulu Hypermarket, the Gulf Air academy, Hope Institute for Special Education, Durrat Al Bahrain, the Bahrain National Museum, and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Bahrain, along with a number of civil society institutions.
