1. What is MKF?

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (“MKF“) is a non-profit foundation registered and licensed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development. Established in 2011 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, its aim is to make a social impact in the education field and to empower Bahraini youth to reach their optimum potential.

2. What is MKF's source of income?

MKF’s only source of income is from donations usually from individuals, private and public institutions who believe in MKF’s cause.

3. What is the Rayaat Scholarship Program?

The MKF scholarship program “Rayaat” was developed in 2011 as a comprehensive approach to education and personal development. The program provides students with scholarships at accredited universities in the Kingdom. In addition, the program offers financial incentives, enrichment workshops, work experiences, and community service opportunities within a supportive student environment.

4. How can I apply to the Rayaat Program?

Application for the Rayaat Program is completed online. Please visit MKF’s site and follow our social media accounts for the application opening and closing dates.

5. Does Rayaat apply to universities for me?

No. The applicant is responsible for applying to one or more of our partner universities he or she is interested in.

6. What universities does the Rayaat scholarship cover?

For Bachelor’s degree:

  • University of Bahrain
  • Bahrain Polytechnic
  • Arabian Gulf University

For Master’s degrees

  • University of Bahrain
  • Arabian Gulf University
7. When will I be informed if I was accepted in Rayaat Program?

If you got accepted, the Rayaat Team will send you Rayaat Acceptance letter by email in the month of May.

8. I’ve been accepted by the desired university. What is required from me?

Please submit your university acceptance letter to the Rayaat Team.

9. Will Rayaat provide me with internship opportunities?

Yes, the Rayaat Program provides summer internship opportunities in private and government entities.

10. I want to withdraw from Rayaat program, is that possible?

Yes. However, all expenses must be paid back in full.

11. What is the youth enrichment program Ithra?

The MKF Youth Enrichment Program “Ithra”, launched in 2012, is a four-year program that aims to empower Bahraini youth to become proactive “community-minded” citizens

12. What is the duration of the program?

The main program lasts for 8 weeks. However, there are supplementary programs that take place during the year.

14. Who conducts the program?

A team of well-trained Program Coordinators and mentors with coaching and youth development expertise.
