Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation Holds its First Book Drive

Manama Bahrain, xx July 2017: In line with its objectives to encourage students to engage in charity work, Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation (MKF) organized a book drive for children and youths in Zaatari Camp in Jordan. This initiative was executed by AlMabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation in cooperation with individual contributors and local entities around the Kingdom.

This initiative is considered to be the first by MKF which aims to support education in the region and provide aid to children and youths affected by the Syrian crisis. The initiative was first launched during MKF’s first forum held on 22 April 2017, which discussed the effect of leadership, entrepreneurship, and volunteerism in developing the youth and it continued for a whole month.

More than 150 books were donated to the camp; the books covered different topics for different age groups, all aimed to develop intellectual capabilities and enhance learning.

Chairperson of Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation, Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa expressed gratitude to everyone that contributed to this humanitarian initiative. The initiative’s main objective was to provide the affected children and youth with an opportunity to continue their learning in spite of the hard conditions and to also contribute, even modestly, to ease the suffering of these children away from their homes.

Moreover, the initiative reflects MKF’s commitment to corporate social responsibility in Bahrain and the region, as well as its contribution towards creating an educated, responsible generation that give back to their country and local community.
