Manama, Bahrain, 11 May 2017 : Al Mabrrah Al Khalifia held a graduation ceremony for the first batch of students enrolled in ‘Ithra’, a four year program aimed at nurturing high school students into ‘community-minded’ citizens.
The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.H Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of MKF, and was attended by Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa as well as board member, Shaikha Hind bint Ali Al Khalifa.
The ceremony started with a speech from the Chairperson of Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation, H.H Shaikha Zain Bint Khalid Al Khalifa, where she expressed her pride in the students of the program, wishing them further success. Also speaking during the event were Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, board member of the Foundation, and Ashwaq Buali, who delivered a motivational speech.
Students and trainers of ‘Ithra’ program were then honored by Shaikha Hala and and Shaikha Hind. Also honored were the volunteers at the ‘First MKF Forum’. The volunteers played a pivotal role in organizing the forum successfully, in line with the objectives of the Foundation which aims to elevate the educational sector in Bahrain.
“We would like to express our sincere deep thanks and appreciation to all everyone who has contributed to the success of this ambitious program aimed at enhancing the abilities of the youth. We would also like to thank the private and public sector organizations that have supported ‘Ithra’ and who played an integral part of the success of our programs and forum,” said the Board Member of Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation, Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa.
“Ithra” is a four-year program that aims to empower Bahraini youth to become proactive “community-minded” citizens with the ability to be play an active role in the society, work under pressure and adjust to different scenarios. The program aims to develop youth who are confident and able to work as a part of a team. The program targets students aged between 14-17 years by offering them a unique learning experience through mental and physical activities. The program also aims to work with trainers with an aim of grooming their skills to further enhance the skills of students. Ithra’s four year program is divided into four stages; self-discovery, community engagement, importance of education and post-school life preparation.
