HH Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa Honoured with “Personality of the Year for Excellence in Social Responsibility” Award for 2026

Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – 13 October 2026: Al Bilad Media Foundation has honoured Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF), with the “Personality of the Year for Excellence in Social Responsibility” award for 2026. The award recognises her longstanding contributions to social and community development, her support for education and Bahraini youth empowerment, and her efforts to promote social responsibility and sustainable giving.

The award was presented during the “Al Bilad Shield for Social Responsibility 2026” ceremony, held in the presence of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, alongside senior officials, prominent national figures, and representatives of the public and private sectors.

Her Highness was selected for this honour in recognition of her leadership as Chairperson of MKF’s Board of Trustees since its establishment, and the development of the Foundation’s programmes and initiatives under her guidance. These efforts have provided Bahraini youth with opportunities for education, training, and personal development, helping them build their capabilities and contribute actively to society.

On this occasion, HH Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa expressed her pride in receiving the award, emphasising that MKF’s achievements over the years reflect the collective efforts of its Board of Trustees, team, students, partners, and supporters, who have all helped advance the Foundation’s mission and extend its impact.

She commented: “I am proud to receive this honour, which I consider a tribute to AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation’s journey and to everyone who has contributed to building the Foundation and developing its programmes and initiatives over the years. Our goal has always been to place the people of Bahrain at the heart of our work and provide young people with meaningful opportunities to discover their abilities, develop their skills, and achieve their academic and professional ambitions.”

Her Highness added: “At MKF, social responsibility is an ongoing commitment to making a real and lasting difference in society. With this in mind, we will continue to develop the Foundation’s programmes and expand its partnerships, opening new opportunities for Bahraini youth and strengthening their ability to participate in and contribute to the nation’s development.”

Since its establishment in 2011, MKF has focused on investing in people through its educational and training programmes and initiatives to empower Bahraini youth. These include the “Rayaat” scholarship programme and the “Ithra” programme, alongside a range of initiatives that develop skills and encourage community participation.

The award recognises MKF’s role in supporting education and youth empowerment, as well as the continued efforts led by HH Shaikha Zain bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa to strengthen the Foundation’s institutional development and enhance the impact of its programmes on Bahraini society.
