AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Organises Campus Tour for Ithra Students at Bahrain Polytechnic

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”2444″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”2445″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Manama, Bahrain, 6 March 2017: As part of the weekly activities and initiatives of the Ithra Youth Programme 2017, AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, in coordination with Bahrain Polytechnic, organised a visit to the college campus to give the programme's students the opportunity to get a close look at university life, in line with this year's programme theme, "Life After School".

The visit, attended by 31 male and 32 female students, featured a wide range of activities and events that benefited the students and broadened their understanding of the many aspects of university life. The mentors opened the visit with a presentation explaining the registration and admission procedures at Bahrain's various universities, and also showed the students how to use the internet to search for scholarships and study grants available in the Kingdom of Bahrain and how to apply for them.

The presentation was followed by an entertaining quiz containing questions about its content, in order to consolidate the information presented and ensure the students gained the greatest possible benefit from it. The mentors then took the students on a tour of the Polytechnic and its many departments, with the organisers dividing the tour into ten stations offering activities and enjoyable interactive exercises focusing on the core skills students need during their studies at the Polytechnic, namely teamwork, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, technology, self-management, initiative, project work, active listening and time management.

The visit's various activities aimed to instil self-reliance in the students and equip them with the essential skills they will draw upon in their university and professional lives, such as active listening and communicating in a professional manner. The Ithra Youth Programme students also learned about the documents and paperwork required to enrol at universities.

For her part, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, extended her sincere thanks and appreciation to Bahrain Polytechnic for hosting the students of the Ithra Youth Programme and for its various efforts to develop the education sector in the Kingdom.
