The launch took place at an introductory meeting held on Saturday 28 January at Isa Cultural Centre, bringing together the Foundation’s team and the parents of the students taking part in the programme to brief them on its plans and objectives, and on the opportunities it offers to coming generations.

The launch of this edition coincided with the graduation of the first cohort to take part in the programme, which is delivered in cooperation with government bodies including the Ministry of Education and the General Sports Authority, alongside civil society organisations, with concerted efforts to implement the plans of a programme that seeks to ensure students receive the education, training and support they need to succeed in higher education and in the workplace.

The introductory meeting also featured a number of activities for students and parents to familiarise them with the purpose and goals of the Ithra Programme, and provided an opportunity to register for the English language course included in the programme, which aims to strengthen young people’s confidence in meeting the requirements of the labour market at both local and international levels.

This year’s edition of the Ithra Programme aims to draw up individual plans for participants to help them determine their pathways during secondary school and beyond. To this end, the programme’s organisers have produced a book that guides students throughout their years of study and up to the point of entering the workplace. The programme also gives students the opportunity to pursue technical education in the specialisations that match their interests, as well as developing their competencies through career planning and helping them gain a deeper understanding of the various academic and professional fields. In addition, the programme organises a series of visits and tours to universities across the Kingdom to give students the chance to explore the educational options available to them.

It is worth noting that the Ithra Youth Programme is a four-year training programme that seeks to develop Bahraini youth and instil a spirit of initiative, leadership and positive engagement in society, by offering a unique educational experience through a range of innovative mental and physical activities that empower young people and enhance their potential and capabilities.

In previous years, the Ithra Youth Programme has received a great deal of positive engagement from students and their families, thanks to its distinctive delivery and content and its approach to working with this important segment of society. This year, the programme will focus on building life skills and leadership qualities and on developing participants’ abilities and potential in all respects, so that they are able to serve their community and their nation.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
