Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Fund Donates BD 100,000 to the Military Hospital

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation has announced a donation of BD 100,000 (one hundred thousand Bahraini Dinars) by the Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Fund to the Military Hospital for the purchase of insulin pumps for children with diabetes. The announcement came during a meeting between Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, and His Excellency Major General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Medical Services.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa stated that the initiative came at the generous direction of the daughters of the late Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa, may God rest her soul, who established a fund in Her Highness's name, managed by AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation and dedicated to charitable and humanitarian works that benefit the community and address people's needs and requirements.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain added that this kind initiative by the daughters of Her Highness Shaikha Moza reflects the values of righteousness and loyalty they embody, and their sincere endeavour to honour the memory of their beloved mother, Her Highness Shaikha Moza, who was known for her love of doing good and helping others, so that such works may be counted among her good deeds.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid went on to say that AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation had identified a pressing need to provide insulin pumps for children with diabetes, and that with the growing waiting list, arrangements were made with the Royal Medical Services at the Bahrain Defence Force Hospital to launch this humanitarian initiative. She thanked the Royal Medical Services for their cooperation and for all the efforts they made to ensure the initiative's success.

She further noted that fitting the pumps for children will help simplify and regulate the process of taking insulin, easing the burden on parents and enabling the children to go about their daily lives more smoothly and comfortably.

Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid also thanked the Bahrain Diabetes Society for its awareness activities, which help shed light on diabetes, its causes, means of prevention and the treatment options available.

Her Highness urged public and private institutions as well as individuals to adopt similar initiatives, noting that uniting efforts can make a clear and tangible difference in addressing the community's health and social issues.

At the close of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Royal Medical Services and AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation. His Excellency Major General Professor Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa praised this generous initiative and extended his sincere thanks to Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa and to the daughters of the late Her Highness Shaikha Moza bint Hamad Al Khalifa, may God rest her soul.
