Securities and Investment Company (SICO) Supports AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation with a Financial Donation

Manama, 14 April / BNA / Mrs. Najla Mohammed Al Shirawi, Chief Executive Officer of Securities and Investment Company (SICO), received Shaikha Lulwa bint Ahmed Al Khalifa, member of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, and presented her with a donation of BD 2,000, in recognition of the social role played by AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation in the field of education and the development of Bahraini youth.

Since its establishment in 2011, the Foundation has awarded, through its scholarship programme, 103 scholarships to a number of universities in the Kingdom of Bahrain, including the University of Bahrain, Bahrain Polytechnic and the Arabian Gulf University. The programme aims to provide Bahraini students with the opportunity to achieve their academic goals through a comprehensive and integrated programme.
The Foundation will provide 43 scholarships for the 2015-2016 academic year. In addition, for the third consecutive year, the Foundation will enrol 400 male and female students from various schools across the Kingdom in the youth programme, Ithra, a national programme that seeks to develop Bahraini youth and encourage them to realise their full potential so as to become effective members of society.

SICO considers education, healthcare and social welfare to be the essential building blocks of emerging societies, and this is certainly the case in the Kingdom of Bahrain, whose principal resource is its people. Securities and Investment Company enters into numerous partnerships with organisations and charitable societies as part of its annual donations programme, in a joint endeavour to advance the local community.

The meeting was attended by Mrs. Sabah Yousif Siyadi, Executive Director of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, Mrs. Nadine Owais, Head of Banking Relations, and Mrs. Nadia Hasan Al Bin Khalil, Head of Human Resources and Administrative Affairs at Securities and Investment Company.

On this occasion, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, extended her sincere thanks and gratitude to Securities and Investment Company for its generous initiative and donation to the Foundation.
