MANAMA, Bahrain 23 September 2019: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation congratulated it’s affiliate Hessa Rashid Al Jar for winning the second edition of the “Role Model Award” competition 2019, which is held across Arab countries. The Foundation considered this award as an important achievement and honor for the Kingdom of Bahrain on a regional level. Hessa received the award at the Arab League Headquarters on Thursday 19th September 2019, in the presence of senior diplomats, as well as Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Board of Member of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation and Ms. Fatima Al Jar, Head of Ithra Department.
The “Role Model Award ” is the first of its kind in the Arab world highlighting young people, and is one of the initiatives launched by the Arab Youth Council for Integrated Development on September 17, 2017, under the patronage of the Arab League, and in collaboration with the General Secretariat of the Arab League, Social Affairs Sector, Department of Civil Society Organizations and Department of Youth and Sports.
The annual competition allows the Arab youth to select their role models in order to showcase and celebrate those who demonstrate exceptional qualities and adhere to the following set of criteria which include: good character, social, cooperative and diligent with a focus on creativity and preservation of the Arab culture and heritage, in addition to showcasing a high degree of patriotism.
It is worth noting that Hessa joined AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation in 2015, after receiving a scholarship to complete her university degree. She soon became a member of the Foundation’s Student Council, first as Head of the Committee of Social and Charity Initiatives, and was then elected as President of the Committee. Since joining she has contributed extensively in community service and worked on training a group of students through the Foundation’s “Ithra Program” which seeks to instill great values in Bahrain’s youth. Hessa is a top student both socially and academically and has confidence as well as a drive to excel and develop herself and her community.

AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation is a non-profit foundation registered and licensed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development. Established in 2011 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, it aims to create a positive impact on the education field and empower Bahraini youth to reach their optimum potential by providing knowledge, skills, and expertise which will benefit them and the Kingdom as a whole.
