AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Announces its Participation in Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship
MANAMA, Bahrain, 13 October 2019: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia is participating for the first time in the Ironman 70.3 Middle East Championship, which is being hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain for the 5th year in a row. The championship which will start on the 7th of December, is considered one of the most important sporting events regionally, and it has the support of, His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in addition to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports.
The AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation’s team consists of 3 students from the Rayaat program which includes Mohamed Abdulsalam, Isa Al Subaie, and Mohamed Al Bastaki. The team has started its training preparations for the tournament, which includes the 1.9km swim course, 90km bike course, and a 21.1km run course.
Commenting on the initiative, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation, stated: “We are proud of our students’ participation in what is considered to be one of the most prominent sporting events in Bahrain and in the region, as it goes in line with our efforts to support Bahraini youth to reach their full potential in accomplishing outstanding achievements in all fields.”
“We hope that our team members will achieve positive results in the different courses of the championship, especially given the team’s advanced capabilities and commitment to training. We also wish them success in achieving high rankings in order to contribute towards elevating the Kingdom’s name regionally and internationally” she added.
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation wishes to thank the Bahrain Triathlon Association, represented by Dr. Shaikh Saqer Al Khalifa, Honorary President of the Federation, Mr. Abdulla Abdulsalam, and Vice President, Ms. May Al Haji for assisting the team in their training preparations.
