Manama, Bahrain 15th March, 2017: Fakhro Restaurants Company -McDonald’s signed an agreement with AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF) to sponsor one of the scholarship seats of Rayaat Programme for the academic year 2017-2018 to 2021 -2022.
Further commenting on the signing ceremony, Director of Fakhro Restaurants Company, the sole franchisee of McDonald’s in Bahrain, Abdulla Adel Fakhro, emphasized on the company’s commitment in collaborating with the public and private sector organizations in order to provide a comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility program geared at supporting sports and education initiatives focused on developing the skills and capabilities of Bahraini youth.
AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation Board of Trustees’ chairperson, Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid Al Khalifa hailed the efforts exerted by the Fakhro Restaurants Company.
“We would like to express our gratitude and appreciation for sponsoring one of the seats. The programs developed by MKF have been successfully largely due continuous support of individuals and companies in Bahrain. Our mission is to elevate the educational sector in the Kingdom and create a generation of well-rounded and dynamic individuals, capable of developing society further,” she added
The scholarship seat will follow the same features provided by the Rayaat Scholarship Programme; features include fully-paid tuition and book fees along with monthly financial incentives. The selected student will be able to take part in workshops, internships, and other community service opportunities. The student will also receive the ‘Rayaat Student Card’ which offers exclusive discounts at a number of retail outlets.
The student will be selected based on overall academic achievement, one-on-one interview results and community work conducted during high school.
Rayaat Scholarship program was launched in 2011 as a comprehensive approach to promote goal achievement and personal development by providing students with scholarship opportunities at accredited universities in the Kingdom along with a series of career development opportunities such as internships in the public and private sectors.
