Manama, Bahrain, XX October 2017: AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation launched an awareness campaign in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness month at Enma Mall in Riffa.
The event, organized by the student council the Foundation’s scholarship program, was held in cooperation with the Middle East Medical Centre (MEM). It aimed to raise awareness about the disease in an informative way by setting up different sections such as a general screening section and a special screening unit. A series of games and competitions and a coloring corner for children was set-up. Also a number of cancer survivors were invited to share their personal journey.
“I would like to take this opportunity and thank media figure, Farah Ali, and the author of the book ‘Back to life’, Humood Jassim, who have both recovered from cancer, for taking part in this event and sharing their stories with the community. We look forward to organizing more community events through our program focus on key issues affecting the community,” said H.H Shaikha Zain Bint Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah Al Khalifiah Foundation.
This campaign aimed to foster community relations and responsibility among the students of the Foundation. One of the main objectives of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation is to instill the sense of responsibility among its students by creating volunteer opportunities and community events.
