Manama Bahrain, 14 September 2017: Al Mabarrah Al Khalifia Foundation (MKF) announced its 7th induction meeting for the ‘Rayaat Scholarship’ program which was held at Bahrain National Charter Monument. A total of 42 successful candidates, who were shortlisted from a total of 397 students, were selected for the program based on their overall academic achievement, one-on-one interview along with volunteer work.
The “Rayaat Scholarship” program aims to cover the tuition fees of students in addition to monthly financial incentives for outstanding students. Other benefits include the Rayaat Student Card which offers exclusive discounts at a number of retail outlets. Moreover, enrichment workshops, job-placement, and community service opportunities are offered within a supportive environment that encourages students to take an active role in the community.
Al Mabarrah Al khalifia Foundation Executive Director, Saba Seyadi said: “We are glad to welcome Fakhro Restaurants Company -McDonald’s and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland to our partners list in the ‘Rayaat Scholarship’ program.”
“We would also like to congratulate the new students enrolled in the program as well as encourage them to make the best of this experience, learn from challenges faced and develop capabilities and skills. Moreover, enrichment workshops, internships, and community service opportunities are offered within a supportive environment that encourages students to take an active role in the community.”
She also extended her sincere gratitude to partners in the National Charter Monument for providing the venue and for their active collaboration towards making this event a success. Ms. Saba also thanked Isra Hameed, a certified coach in leadership and self-development, who gave a motivational speech to students encouraging perseverance and self-confidence.
The ‘Rayaat Scholarship’ program was launched in 2011 as a comprehensive approach to promote educational achievement and personal development through providing students with scholarship opportunities at accredited universities in the Kingdom. This year, the program offered two Master’s Degree scholarships for two students chosen out of 128 applicants.
